Kensington’s innovative Slim NanoSaver 2.0 Keyed Locks, which won the prestigious 2022 Red Dot Award for Product Design, feature an innovative smaller lock head design with off-center locking cleat that enables ultra-thin and two-in-one laptops to lie flat and stable on a surface to provide effective theft protection without blocking ports.
Featuring unique Cleat™ Locking Technology, NanoSaver locks work similarly to cycling cleats, securely gripping the interior walls of a device’s Nano Security Slot to create a strong connection between the device frame and lock. The slim nano lock head on the NanoSaver locks swivels to enable ultra-thin devices to lie flat on a surface for ease of use without blocking ports, and provides highly effective physical and visual theft deterrents. The company’s patented Hidden Pin™ technology is an anti-pick feature that prevents tampering and is unique to Kensington’s keyed locks.

The Slim NanoSaver family of locks is the latest addition to Kensington’s growing portfolio of locking solutions for desktop and laptop computers, tablets, mobile devices, computer accessories, and peripherals. Verified to exceed industry standards, all Kensington keyed and combination locks are covered by an industry-leading five-year limited warranty, and are subjected to rigorous testing in a controlled environment by a third-party organization with each lock being stressed to identify failure points. Kensington cables, which are constructed of twisted carbon steel and coated to protect working surfaces from scratches, are subjected to tensile testing to measure cable strength and subjected to a minimum shear cut testing of 1,000 lbs of force, ensuring that the cables cannot be easily cut or pulled apart. Equally important to the strength of the cable is the ability of the lock head to stay engaged in a device’s security slot when pulled. Kensington locks are designed and tested to withstand a minimum straight pull force of 200 pounds and 400 pounds side pull. Kensington locks are designed and tested to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -22 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit, cable and lock tip rotations up to 8,000 cycles, repeated drops and impacts, vibration testing, and various additional tests on keyed and combination lock heads.
