Director of US Channel Marketing Lauded for her Contributions to Channel Partner Sales Growth
Kensington®, the worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business, and home-office professionals and The Professionals’ Choice, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Alana Shing, Director of Kensington US Channel Marketing (formerly Senior Manager) to its prestigious 2018 Women of the Channel list. The executives who comprise this annual list span the IT channel—representing vendors, distributors, solution providers and other organizations that figure prominently in the channel ecosystem. Each is recognized for her outstanding leadership, vision, and unique role in driving channel growth and innovation.
CRN editors select the Women of the Channel honorees based on their professional accomplishments, demonstrated expertise, and ongoing dedication to the IT channel.
During Shing’s first year in her role as Senior Manager of US Channel Marketing, she contributed substantially to sales growth in the USA through several initiatives. To improve communications with channel partners, she initiated a quarterly email newsletter and webinar for channel partners and oversaw the distribution of email announcements for all new products. She empowered channel partners with better selling tool like a selling guide, battle cards, and attach postcards. To improve Kensington’s authorized reseller program and onboarding process, she led efforts to refine the Kensington Authorized Reseller program benefits, sign-up experience, and collateral.
“This accomplished group of leaders is steadily guiding the IT channel into a prosperous new era of services-led business models and deep, strategic partnerships,” said Bob Skelley, CEO of The Channel Company. “CRN’s 2018 Women of the Channel list honors executives who are driving channel progress through a number of achievements—exemplary partner programs, innovative product development and marketing, effective team-building, visionary leadership and accelerated sales growth—as well as advocacy for the next generation of women channel executives.”
“As US Channel Marketing Director, Alana Shing has been the driving force behind several successful initiatives that have accelerated Kensington’s year-over-year sales growth,” said Kensington Vice President of Sales, Matt Dargis. “Building on the improved tools and communications developed for our channel partners, her future plans to focus Kensington’s efforts on relationship building will be a great benefit to our channel partners.”
The 2018 Women of the Channel list will be featured in the June issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.CRN.com/wotc.
