TrackballWorks™ allows you to program your Trackball to behave how you want it to by customizing the functions assigned to each Trackball button.
The result is a more productive and truly personalized computing experience. Now you can set your preferred functions or keyboard shortcuts for each trackball button or combination of buttons, adjust the pointer speed and acceleration, and so much more. Best of all, by allowing you to personalize your trackball experience, TrackballWorks makes your trackball work the way you do.
Here's an overview of the features available in the 1.3 version for Mac and Windows.
Button CustomizationYou can assign hotkey shortcuts to each button. You can also perform “Chording” (assigning a hotkey to the combination of two buttons pressed at once). Hotkeys can be customized per application. So a button can be programmed to perform one function in one program and something different in another. You can also program buttons to enter snippets of text, control media, control navigation and perform editing tasks. |
Text Snippets & NavigationYou can program buttons to enter pre-defined snippets of text or assign buttons to pre-selected navigation functions. |
Media & Web Browser ControlsWant to use your trackball to control your volume or web browser? No problem. Assign buttons to volume up or down and page forward and back.
|
Editing & Desktop FunctionsProgram buttons to perform cut & paste functions with a single click. You can also set buttons to minimize or maximize windows in the Desktop assignment options.
|
System & Launching ShortcutsScreen lock can be instantly invoked with a quick click rather than holding down three keys at the same time and clicking to confirm. Folders and files can also be opened with just a single click.
|
Cursor “Pointer” ControlsAdjust cursor pointer speed and acceleration to react exactly as you want it to dependent on how quickly you turn your trackball. Snap To Default Pointer would automatically move to the default button when a dialog window is opened. Slow Pointer Pointer moves slower when this key is pressed on the keyboard. Single Axis Movement Locks the point movement along only either the horizontal (x) or vertical (y) axis. |
“Scrolling” ControlsWant to scroll anti-clockwise to scroll up and clockwise to scroll down? No problem. Just change the scrolling orientation. Select inertial scroll to maintain scrolling momentum, just like on a touch screen when you swipe downwards to scroll down. |
