Kensington, a worldwide leader in delivering smart. safe. simple.™ computing accessories, announced today that it has been named a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree for its KeyFolio Thin X3 Plus for iPad Air 2. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a pre-eminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories.
The Kensington KeyFolio Thin X3 Plus for iPad Air 2 will be displayed at the 2015 International CES, which runs Jan. 6-9, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada and features PowerLift™ technology that allows the user to charge either a smartphone or tablet using the keyboard’s internal 4500 mAh battery. There’s also a PowerLift app that provides real-time battery level monitoring so the user can see how much power is available. An integrated Bluetooth® keyboard offers six rows of high-performance scissor keys. A sleek and form-fitting, hard-shell exterior with aluminum accents surrounds the tablet in protection while maintaining a thin profile. The KeySense™ Power Channel automatically turns the keyboard on and off when it’s engaged or disengaged from the magnetic stand, helping conserve battery life. The QuickFold™ design lets users hide the keyboard beneath the tablet so they can easily transition from typing mode to viewing mode.
“We are honored to receive this esteemed award from CES for our KeyFolio Thin X3 Plus for iPad Air 2,” said Jim Murakami, Global Product Manager, Kensington. “This recognition is further validation that we are designing and delivering industry-leading products that make life easier and more productive for consumers. Today’s iPad and iPhone users don’t want to risk running out of battery life. They want to know that they have the power they need to get the job done, whether they are in the office or on the road.”
The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®), the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976. Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present. Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting-edge tech products and services coming to market.
2015 CES Innovation Honoree products are featured on CESweb.org/Innovation, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, description, photo and URL.
