Chosen for Outstanding Product Development and Its Ability to Improve Security, the VeriMark Fingerprint Key Offers Simple, Best-in-Class Biometric Authentication for Incomparable Protection Against Cyber-Thieves and Unauthorized Access on Uncompromised Devices
Kensington®, a worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business and home office professionals and The Professionals’ Choice, today announced that its Kensington VeriMark™ Fingerprint Key has earned the Security Today 2017 New Product of the Year Award in the Access Control – Biometrics category.
The Security Today New Product of the Year Award honors the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security. Winners were honored in 40 product award categories.
“The new Product of the Year contest gives us a terrific sampling of security solutions, but what is more
amazing each year is the technical savvy that comes along with new products,” said Ralph C. Jensen, editor in chief of Security Today magazine. “Our juried judges must be able to understand technology and innovation to be able to stay on top of security solutions that will blend into the platforms in use today, and what will be expected of them tomorrow. Our New Product of the Year contest allows forward-thinking manufacturers to be able to share their vision of security.”
Engineered to provide simple, best-in-class biometric authentication for incomparable protection against cyber-thieves, the key protects against unauthorized access on compromised devices and is the world’s first fingerprint security key to support both Windows Hello and Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) universal second factor authentication (U2F).
The first of its kind anywhere in the world, the Kensington VeriMark Fingerprint Key combines superior biometric performance and 360-degree readability with anti-spoofing technology and fingerprint activated collaboration capabilities. Designed to meet Windows Hello security requirements, the key allows users without a fingerprint sensor in their computers to enjoy the benefits of faster, more secure login that Windows Hello affords. And businesses whose employee computers do not have biometric authentication capabilities, can easily deploy the fingerprint key without having to replace an entire fleet of laptops.
“It is an honor to receive accolades from a leading industry publication for security professionals,” said Ada Yang, Senior Global Product Manager, Kensington. “Innovation, quality and trust have made Kensington the standard in device security for more than 25 years. This award further validates our commitment to innovative product development and providing best-in-class security solutions to protect against cyber-thieves and unauthorized access on compromised devices.”
