Do I need to install anything to use this trackball?

No. The Orbit Fusion Wireless Trackball is plug-and-play. Install KensingtonWorks™ software and enhance productivity by customizing workflow options per application for virtually endless function combinations.

How tall is this trackball?

The height of Orbit Fusion Wireless Trackball is 2.31".

How many devices can I connect to the trackball?

You can connect to one host device via the 2.4GHz nano dongle that stows inside the trackball body. An adapter (USB-A to USB-C) is also included in case your computer has limited or no USB-A ports.

How do I clean the ball?

Use a pinky finger or the blunt side of a pen to gently remove the ball to clean dirt, grime, and germs.

How long is the battery life?

You can get up to 14 months of performance with two AA batteries (included). However, the actual battery life will depend on individual usage. The battery indicator light will alert you when it’s time for a change.

Is there a left-handed version?

Not at this time, but you can program the buttons with KensingtonWorks to accommodate left-handed use.

Is it a quiet clicker?

The Orbit Fusion Wireless Trackball is not unusually loud, but it still does make a clicking sound.

Can you program the forward/back buttons to be DPI adjustments?

No. DPI adjustments can be made using the DPI switch located on the left side of the device, right next to the gray Middle Click button. You can also adjust pointer speed in KensingtonWorks.

Can it scroll sideways?

It can only scroll vertically.

How many programmable buttons are there?

There are five programmable buttons.

Can it be used on any surface, such as your thigh?

Yes. The Orbit Fusion Wireless Trackball works on any surface since the ball will always rotate within its socket housing.

Does the scroll ring have a free/fast-scroll capability?

No. You feel it click as you scroll.

Is this compatible with Android tablets?

The functions of our default settings should work with Android, but customization settings made with KensingtonWorks only work with Windows and macOS.

Is this compatible with iOS?

The functions of our default settings are compatible with iOS 13 and above.

Is this compatible with PS4?

The functions of our default settings should work with PS4, but customization settings made with KensingtonWorks only work with Windows and macOS.

How well does it work with Linux?

The trackball is compatible with Linux, but customization settings made with KensingtonWorks only work with Windows and macOS.

How well does it work with ChromeOS?

The trackball is compatible with Chrome OS, but customization settings made with KensingtonWorks only work with Windows and macOS.

Do you have to use it as a trackball, or can you also drag it like a traditional mouse?

It only works as a trackball.

Is the dongle USB 3.0 or USB 2.0?

Because mice and keyboards don’t use a lot of data, it’s USB 2.0. But it works in either port.

Is this compatible with USB-C?

Yes, but you’ll need the included USB-A to USB-C adapter.
